Hello, my name is Shakiya, and I am very excited to assist you in your pregnancy journey. I have received extensive doula training, and I am 110% prepared to assist you in creating the birth experience that you desire. I am passionate about maternal health, and I am honored to have the opportunity to help you navigate this world. I will pour all of my knowledge into supporting and advocating with and for you. As your doula, it is my job to be fully present. I will support you in every way that helps you feel seen, heard and included. I will advocate for you so you can advocate for yourself. I have a 12-year-old daughter, and while all births are different, I understand that this is a scary yet sacred time. It is important to know that labor and birth don’t always follow a plan, so I will assist you in making a birth “Preference List.”  I want you to feel safe, secure, heard, valued, considered, and included in decisions. If someone asks you to describe your birth experience in a few words, If you feel good about saying “positive, amazing, unforgettable, and satisfying,” my goal was achieved. I look forward to helping you create beautiful memories and assisting you in bringing a beautiful baby into this world safely.
