More About Kimberly

EARLY LIFE + EDUCATION.  

Kimberly was born in Hickory, North Carolina. From a young age, Kimberly’s life was profoundly influenced by the values and support provided by her family and the importance placed on community care. Kimberly was raised by her grandmother. She was a nanny and caretaker who was unable to work in local furniture factories due to

polio. Instead, she cared for the children of wealthy families. Her grandmother taught her that caring for each other's well being is priceless. This profound influence inspired Kimberly to follow a similar path in caregiving.

 

CAREER

Kimberly embarked on her professional journey by obtaining an early childhood education certificate and studying early childhood development between 1994 and 1996 at Catawba County Community College where she continued education, she gained valuable experience working in daycare and with the head start program, a state initiative for low-income families with young children. After moving to Charlotte, she

worked as a nanny for numerous families in the area. With over 30 years of experience, Kimberly is skilled in caring for children from birth to fifteen years of age, including multiples and those with ADHD disorder. In 2024, she enhanced her qualifications by attending the professional childbirth education and doula program at Johnson C. Smith University.

 

FAMILY

Kimberly is happily married to a retired US Navy Veteran, with whom she has spent the past 12 years learning and growing with. They reside in Harrisburg, North Carolina, and have a blended family of five adult children and three grandsons.

 

PASSION

Kimberly is passionate about arts and crafts, with a particular proficiency in crocheting. She creates unique pieces for children and adults. Over the years, She has developed a deep appreciation for the creative process and the joy of bringing intricate designs to life through yarn. This craft not only allows Kimberly to express her creativity but also provides a sense of accomplishment and relaxation. She reminds us that we all have gifts we should express
